| The current courthouse shown in an old photograph was build in 1909 at a cost of $125,000. In the lower right-hand corner of the photo shows the original cannon that was used in the war of 1812 and the Civil War for coastal defense. It was removed during WWII and used for scrap metal. It would later be replaced by a 1921 Japanese Cannon. | |||||||||||||||||||||
