Baker County Watershed

Mission

The VISION of the Powder Basin Watershed Council is that all Powder Basin watersheds are healthy and meeting the needs of the people and the environment.

The MISSION of the Powder Basin Watershed Council is to promote, retain, restore, and enhance the health of our watersheds through the cooperation of all stakeholders. We are committed to this mission because we recognize that the prosperity of the Basin is dependent on the proper functioning of our watersheds.

In pursuit of the Council's Mission and Vision, the Council will advocate for quality watershed management, especially among landowners in the Brownlee, Powder and Burnt River subbasins by promoting a holistic approach that engages interested stakeholders, including appropriate Federal, State, and County agencies.

Programs of Delivery

In pursuit of our mission, we engage in three programs of delivery: education and outreach; restoration; and planning, monitoring, and assessments. Delivery of these programs depends on committed volunteers from across our basin. To find out how to get involved, please join us at a Council meeting or contact the office staff at (541) 523-7288.
